After JMU men’s soccer’s 3-0 win over Drexel, senior forward Aaron Ward-Baptiste was crowned CAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week and freshman defender Melker Anshelm was tabbed as the CAA Rookie of the Week. These awards are the first won by JMU players this season.
Ward-Baptiste scored two goals against Drexel on Saturday, bringing his season total to three — a career high. Anshelm, who’s started every match so far this season, helped shut out Drexel on Saturday.
The Dukes are currently 3-2-1 (1-0-0 CAA) and sit in first place in the CAA. Their next match is Saturday at home against Northeastern, with kickoff set for 8 p.m.
