The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communications Center urged residents in the Criders and Bergton communities to be aware of a utility outage, according to a news release. The power from the outage was restored around 9 p.m. Sunday.
The outage was expected to affect 60 to 80 residents’ ability to call 911, according to the release.
The city of Harrisonburg urged that if any residents in the affected areas experienced an emergency, they should try dialing 911 from their cell phone. If that doesn’t work, personnel was stationed at the Bergton Volunteer Fire Company prepared to assist.
