Sixty-nine isolation beds are currently in use.

According to The Breeze’s COVID-19 dashboard, the number of cumulative positive cases of COVID-19 at JMU reached 1,003 over the weekend.

The new case number accounts for over 4.5% of the student body. Despite the rise in cases, the number of isolation beds available for sick students climbed from only 11 to 74 over the weekend. Sixty-nine beds are currently in use.

As of today, 440 positive student tests have been conducted at the University Health Center, yielding a positivity rate of nearly 40% since Aug. 17. Additionally, 563 students have self-reported their positive status.
