The ICOR Mini robot rolls off of the SWAT team trucks to deliever packages to families.

In the midst of craziness and confusion surrounding the novel coronavirus, HPD’s SWAT team has provided a “positive distraction.” In the department’s efforts to do so, it’s delivering a special package with an even more unique delivery method.

The package will consist of lunch donated by Jersey Mike’s Subs and will be delivered via a small robot called an ICOR Mini robot that deploys from the department’s SWAT team trucks.

The winning families are recommended by Boys & Girls Clubs of Harrisonburg-Rockingham, according to the HPD’s press release.

The first delivery has been completed and, according to the release, more deliveries will take place in the upcoming weeks.

A video of the first winning family receiving the package was included in the release.
