Harrisonburg City Hall (copy for EAP staff report)

The open house will allow locals to respond to the proposed Environmental Action Plan.

An open house will be held in the atrium at City Hall on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. in regard to Harrisonburg’s Environmental Action Plan. The city of Harrisonburg stated in a press release that all community members are invited to look over the plan and discuss their thoughts or concerns with city staff and Environmental Performance Standards Advisory Committee members at the event.

The EAP is a blueprint that will encourage Harrisonburg residents to become more sustainable individuals. Within the plan are goals for each focus area: buildings and energy, land and green space, regional food systems, sustainable transportation, waste reduction and recycling and water resources. A public comment period for the EAP will run from June 5-26.
