Former student charged with possession of child pornography (copy)

According to reports, Houlihan had potentially more than 5,000 images of child pornography at his home. 

Former JMU student and Hernon resident Connor Houlihan, 18, was arrested Dec. 17 after investigators found potentially more than 5,000 images of child pornogrphy at his home. The arrest was made after a tip was submitted from Flickr, to the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Bedford County, Virginia.

The tip was examined by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, according to a release from the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office. Several electronic devices were confiscated from the house and Houlihan was taken into custody immediately.

Houlihan was charged with 16 counts of possession of child pornography, which are all felony charges. He was transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond after he was seen before a magistrate.

JMU was unaware of the incident and declined to comment.
