South High Street hit-and-run

The 38-year-old male cyclist is still receiving medical treatment at the  University of Virginia hospital.

Dashawn A. Baird of Staunton was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run that severely injured a 38-year-old male cyclist near the 1000 block of South High Street early Tuesday morning, according to a press release from Harrisonburg Police Department. The cyclist was airlifted to the University of Virginia hospital and is currently receiving ongoing medical treatment.

Yesterday, Baird, 35, was charged with hit-and-run — property damage or injury.
