Saturday morning at 8:30am there was an explosion at the intersection of South Main St and Miller circle. More than 70 responders came to the scene. There were no concerns with further explosions, but as a precaution gas and electricity were secured in the entire area. As of now, the cause has not yet been determined and there are teams of investigators exploring the scene for further information. Two individuals were transported by Medical Evacuation helicopters to UVA and the third victim is being treated at a local hospital. The investigation will take multiple days. Surrounding buildings were also severely damaged.
