JMU play-by-play radio broadcaster Dave Thomas discusses JMU football changes and expectations
Breeze TV Sports Reporter Jordan Simal sits down and talks with JMU play-by-play radio broadcaster Dave Thomas to talk about the upcoming JMU Football season that is scheduled to begin to play in March.
Thomas discusses his initial reactions to both the suspension of the fall season, as well as the spring season announcement and how the team has managed during these trying times. He discusses the strength and conditioning updates he’s seen and talks he’s had with Head Coach Curt Cignetti.
Additionally, Thomas and Simal discuss players moving to-and-from JMU to either prepare for spring football or to play fall football as soon as they can at a different university. The guys talk about which departures are the most key and what new additions to the team fans should get excited about.
The new quarterback situation is one of the hottest topics regarding the football team heading into the spring and Thomas breaks down what he’s seeing out of the position now that former QB Ben DiNucci has gone pro to the Dallas Cowboys.
Thomas closes by talking about where the team’s expectations lie and what fans should begin to get excited for once the season is finally here. It’ll have been over a full calendar year since last year’s FCS Championship game when the Dukes finally take the field again, and the team is hungry to get back out onto that Bridgeforth Stadium turf.
After a 29-year stint by former JMU men’s football and basketball announcer Mike Schikman, the Dukes have welcomed a new voice to play-by-play announcing, a man by the name of Dave Thomas.
