JMU football is back with its first kick off of the 2021 season happening Feb. 20

The time for camp is over. JMU Football is primed to return in just one week in the team's season opener against Morehead State. It's been 13 months since the dukes last played... well, anybody. With kickoff just a week away, "excited" is an understatement when describing the team's current state.

January 11, 2020 was the look time the Dukes took to the field. Unknowing to the nation, let alone JMU, their FCS Championship loss to the NDSU Bison would be the first and only time the Dukes would take to the gridiron last year. Several household names have come and gone since then. Ben DiNucci, Ron’Dell Carter and John Daka, among others, have all become pro. This naturally paves the way for new starters to forge ahead in 2021.

Quarterback Cole Johnson and wide receiver Devin Ravenel join Breeze TV for a pre-season interview to talk about the upcoming season and their anticipation to lead the Dukes onto Bridgeforth Stadium’s storied turf later this month.

The Dukes will be playing a shortened season in the upcoming months compared to the usual fall season. It begins on Saturday, February 20, and ends on Saturday, April 10 at home versus Elon. The FCS Championship game for the 2020-2021 season will once again take place at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas on Saturday, May 15, 2021.
