This week in entertainment, Breeze TV covers all things controversial.
We first start things off with Netflix and their recently added French film, “Mignonnes” also referred to as “Cuties” to their que. The film’s writer and director, Maïmouna Doucouré, describes it as a coming of age story from the perspective of an eleven-year-old French-Senegalese girl, going through a culture shock of acquiring social media attention through dancing. Perspectives from the Washington Post, rotten tomatoes, and Ted Cruz, all hit on critical aspects of the film's dicey director decisions. The film won Sundance’s Directing Award, along with procuring three other nominations.
Continuing the line of questioning, Chris Evans also came under fire for his recently leaked nudes on Instagram. He addresses the controversy on the Tamron Hall show, going over how "lessons were learned...sometimes you just gotta roll through the punches...". He used the attention to his advantage, tweeting out, "Now that I have your attention...vote Nov 3!!!"
Finally, we finish things off with all things Robert Pattinson. Coming off of an exciting 2019 Oscar run, starring in the latest Christopher Nolan movie Tenet, going back and forth on production on the Batman movie due to COVID-19, and now his latest film, "The Devil All The Time". Pattinson stars as the antagonistic preacher in West Virginia at the end of the baby boom era. He also co-stars with Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgard, Sebastian Stan, and more.
Antonio Campos' new film "The Devil All The Time," now streaming on Netflix, stars Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgârd and Robert Pattinson in a dark mystery of Christianity and crime webs.
